A FIAT-tastic ride for a friend

Maria and Danny D’Mello and their children recently embarked on a FIAT-tastic fundraiser driving from Werribee to Sydney and back.

The D’Mello’s raised over $10,000 for Mercy Palliative Care in Sunshine, a service close to their heart. Their dear friend, Rob, passed away from a rare cancer diagnosis. Before he passed away, Rob, a car enthusiast, loved the idea of a fundraiser involving cars.

To honour Rob’s memory, the D’Mello’s decided to turn their road trip dream into a reality, driving their hot red FIAT 500 from Werribee to Sydney and back, raising money on the road!

So, the D’Mello’s revved up for the ride of a lifetime in their bright red FIAT 500, driving hundreds kilometres . Stopping in regional Victorian and NSW towns and making many friends along the way, Maria and Danny shared the spirit of Mercy far and wide. Thank you to Maria and Danny, their generous support will make a huge difference to patients receiving compassionate end-of-life care at Mercy Health.
